Love this post, it resonates! I'm an avid walker as part of my creative process. So magical others do the same. There needs to be a Creative Walking Society. Or, Walking Creatives. Something.

Isn't it such a great way to create flow? There are cool organisations happening - if you're in Britain, a new thing called Slow Ways.. they're building a network of routes across the UK.

If you're local to London, I also am starting to lead some movement + walking sessions with my collective Blue Palms. Pop me a message if you'd like to be involved 🌱

The best I've yet found. I wish I was! I'm always reading about the Lake District and the legendary walking tours all throughout the country. If / when I do make it back I'd love to join a walk.

I’m looking forward to see how you progress onto canvas using your smaller drawing techniques, but enlarged. I also wonder how varied your colour palette will be 🤔.

Thanks! It’s definitely a mission - playing with lines and directional drawing is very different to paint, which I’m finding to be more about colour splodges and shapes. More next month…!

Elle I loved every bit of this! Especially the tasty slice of etymology and thoughts on walking. One of these days I'll stop berating myself for "running away" from my work and accept that walks are an essential part of my work!

Thank you! Honestly I believe all we do feeds into our practice. Walks allow that internal space, and in moving through the landscape / street scape / wherever you may find yourself, as a visual artist you'll absorb it all for your mind's eye. 🌞
